ORA-00265: instance recovery required, cannot set ARCHIVELOG mode

Cause: The database either crashed or was shutdown with the ABORT option. Media recovery cannot be enabled because the online logs may not be sufficient to recover the current datafiles.

Action: Open the database and then enter the SHUTDOWN command with the NORMAL or IMMEDIATE option.

Cause: An attempt was made to enable ARCHIVELOG mode when there are incomplete media recoveries.

Action: Complete the instance recovery before enabling ARCHIVELOG mode.

这个错误一般发生在用户要求数据库管理人员将数据库设置为ARCHIVELOG模式时出现，此时，数据库必须完成恢复，才能将数据库设置为ARCHIVELOG模式。

正常处理方法及步骤

（1）检查数据库当前的实例状态。

（2）如果数据库处于恢复过程中，可以通过完成恢复来恢复数据库，然后重新设置数据库。

（3）如果数据库处于正常运行状态，可以通过重新启动数据库、启动恢复线程或者执行recover database获得恢复，然后再设置数据库为ARCHIVELOG模式。
